What is the Higher Level Skills Program?
The Higher Level Skills program provides a government subsidy to support eligible individuals to access subsidised training in selected certificate IV and above qualifications, or priority skill sets.
What you can study
Subsidies are provided for a select number of certificate IV, diploma and advanced diploma qualifications, and priority skill sets critical to productivity within the workplace.
The Higher Level Skills subsidy for a course is paid to the training provider to reduce the cost of the course to the student. Only quality providers that pass the Department of Education, Training and Employment’s high standards are approved to deliver training under this program. Site Institute is one of the select registered training organisations approved under the Higher Level Skills Program.
Eligible participants can undertake subsidised training with Site Institute in the following qualifications:
To be eligible for the Higher Level Skills Program, a student must:
- must not have or be enrolled in a certificate IV or higher-level qualification, not including qualifications completed at school and foundations skills training.
- be 15 years of age or older
- have finished secondary school or left school
- be an Australian citizen or permanent resident residing in Queensland, or New Zealand citizen permanently residing in Queensland, or a temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency
The program is subsidised by the Queensland Government however students are required to pay a marginal ‘contribution fee’. Concessional students receive a further discount on the fees. Check the ‘Domestic Students’ tab on the course page for specific fee information
